Occupational Therapist- PRN

To continuously evaluate, develop a treatment plan and conduct appropriate occupational therapy management to meet the individual needs of medically referred adolescent to geriatric patients (occasional pediatrics in wound care and orthopedic management only) in an efficient, productive manner and within the guidelines of the Occupational Therapy Practice Act and the American Occupational Therapy Association's Standards for Practice and Code of Ethics. To maintain accurate, current records on all patients according to the department's policy and procedures. To supervise support staff and other departmental staff as it relates to patient care. To participate in the quality improvement process and in updating programs and/or development of new programs. To assist with educational programs for departmental and hospital associates and to uphold the standards of the department and hospital by dealing with patients, visitors, associates and other medical professionals in a respectful, courteous manner.
Education, training, experience:
-Graduate of an accredited school of Occupational Therapy.
-B.S. or M.S. in Occupational Therapy.
-State licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
-Current certification as a BLS Healthcare Provider.
-1 year experience in a hospital setting.
-Customer service abilities including effective listening skills.
-Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment.
-Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 pounds.
